Alexandre Hotels and its employees are committed to the efficiency of their operations and the preservation of the environment, taking responsibility for the well-being and conservation of our surroundings and our community.
Our community policy and main actions are:
1. Supply, Energy Management and Savings Initiatives
We ensure energy control of all hotel operations by investing in A-grade efficiency equipment and raising awareness among our staff about energy conservation, developing the following initiatives and actions: Low-consumption lighting in all hotel facilities, a card and switch system to deactivate air conditioning in guest rooms, replacement of air conditioning systems, replacement of air conditioning fans, timer controls for exterior lighting, mini bars with thermoelectric technology, TVs with low-consumption screens, and heating of domestic hot water and swimming pool using solar panels.
2. Water management
Alexandre Hotels incorporates water-saving devices in its hotels that reduce water consumption, both in taps and toilets. The gardens have a drip irrigation system, and hot water is generated through solar panels in the La Siesta, Gala, Troya, and FrontAir Congress hotels. In the case of the Fira Congress Hotel, investment has been made in biomass, which contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere since the portion of carbon dioxide (CO2) that will be produced in its combustion has been previously removed from the atmosphere during the process of photosynthesis; in this way, biomass has a neutral carbon balance.
3. Waste management
Alexandre Hotels minimizes waste production in all its areas, recycling glass and plastic packaging.
4. Use of chemicals
Alexandre Hotels uses biodegradable chemicals and safely disposes of hazardous waste.
5. Promotion of responsible tourism
Alexandre Hotels, a member of the "Turismo de Tenerife" organization, promotes and improves the economic and social benefits of the community and its businesses.
6. Acquisitions
Alexandre Hotels prioritizes the acquisition of local products over imports or external suppliers, collaborating with official bodies to promote local traditions.
7. Employment
Alexandre Hotels recognizes the importance of hiring staff within the local area of its hotels rather than looking for them outside the community.
8. Donations and charity
Alexandre Hotels, aware of the needs of charities, schools, hospitals and community groups, collaborates by providing financial or in-kind support to several of these institutions.
9. Our objectives
Reducing solid waste by purchasing products in bulk. Continuing to reduce drinking water consumption, and training hotel staff through environmental conservation courses.
